On 10th November 2011, Domaine Direct hosted a Celebratory Wine Tasting at the Pewterers Hall London, in honour of our 30 year anniversary.
Over 100 of our private customers, some of whom have supported Domaine Direct for over 25 years, came along to take a look back over the last 3 decades with us and taste some exceptional wines from the 1980′s, 1990′s and 2000′s. To mention just a few, we tasted; Meursault 1er cru Perrières 1989 Coche-Dury, Bonnes-Mares Vieilles Vignes 1988 Roumier, Chablis grand cru Les Preuses 1986 Dauvissat, Meursault 1er cru Charmes 1992 Roulot, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er cru Champaux 1999 Denis Mortet, Spottswoode Cabernet Sauvignon 1994, Volnay-Santenots-du-Mileeu 1er cru 1999 Comtes Lafon, Bourgogne blanc 2002 Coche-Dury, Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnay 2002 and Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er cru Chaignots 2002 Alain Michelot 2002, to name but a few!
The wines were stunning and a real eye opener for those who had never had the opportunity to taste mature Burgundy from such top quality domaines.
As well as the more mature wines, we showed a number of wines from our current stock, including wines from Jean-Marc Boillot, Billaud-Simon, Etienne Sauzet, Henri Germain, Château Thivin, Thomas Morey, Frédéric Magnien, Géantet-Pansiot and Chantal Lescure, again to name just a few!
The evening was a great success and we would like to thank everyone that came along and apologies to those who we could not squeeze in!
