Leeuwin Estate
Domaine Direct’s wine list is devoted to wines of superior character and ageworthiness. Our love of world class Chardonnay from Burgundy led us to seek out a comparable
example of this versatile grape type from the Southern Hemisphere. We were drawn to Margaret River, home of the Western Australian superstar, Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnay. Its credentials for greatness are evident in its excellent year-on-year consistency, fine acid architecture, persistence of flavour, age-worthiness, complexity, terroir transparency and structure.
The weight of expectation which comes from producing ‘Australia’s finest Chardonnay’ seems to sit lightly on Leeuwin, which goes from strength to strength.
Of course, there is far more to Leeuwin than just its most famous wine . Here is a list of the current UK range:
- Prelude Vineyards Chardonnay 2009
- Art Series Riesling 2009
- Art Series Sauvignon Blanc 2011
- Art Series Chardonnay 2008
- Prelude Vineyards Cabernet Merlot 2005
- Art Series Shiraz 2008
