Thivin`s imposing history and size, along with its continuing commitment to quality, make it the perfect worldwide ambassabor for the Brouilly and Cotes de Brouilly crus. Holdings on the blue and black volcanic lava of the Cotes de Brouilly total 16 hectares, yielding a medium-weight traditional cuvee, a separate bottling from the steep 4-hectare La Chapelle vineyard showing added fruit intensity and minerality, and Zaccharie, a limited release fermented and raised in oak. 3.5 hectares of AOC Brouilly, from pink granite soils, giving a more tannic wine with smoky, bottled fruit notes, and 4 hectares of compellingly fresh, notably mineral Beaujolais-Villages from west-facing slopes in the Quincié sector, complete the line up. Tiny quantities of white and rosé are delicious, recent additions.
The domaine is certified organic by Terra Vitis and is in conversion to bio-dynamic status.
