Three levels of wine are offered at this trail-blazing Northern Burgundy estate. The varietal range features Sauvignon Blanc, Aligoté, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir (the last two under the Cotes d`Auxerre appellation). All are stand-out wines in their own right, harvested significantly later than usual and offering vivid, precise flavours with uncommon depth and smoothness. The prestige Corps de Garde range, a historical reference to the property, comprises three wines: the uncommon, shy-bearing Fié Gris variety of Sauvignon blanc; a Chardonnay from 40+year-old vines which is barrel fermented and raised in oak, and a finely-wrought, intensely fruity Pinot Noir. Finally come three vineyard-designate Chardonnay bottlings showing the specificities of their kimmeridgian soils - fossil-rich, high-energy Biaumont, the stricter, saline and mineral Gondonne and the smoky, mineral Gueules de Loup - and a recent Pinot Noir purchase Irancy Les Mazelots.
