Owners Ren and Marilyn Harris have grown grapes here since 1976 but only started winemaking operations in 1991. Paradigm’s cult following is based on superb raw materials and the magic winemaking touch of Heidi Peterson Barrett who is also responsible for such California cult classics as Screaming Eagle. The Paradigm vineyard is located in the Oakville district, home to numerous great Cabernets (Opus One, Harlan Estate, Heitz Martha’s Vineyard, to name but a few) and Rutherford’s only serious rival for the title ‘best California Cabernet AVA’.
