Domaine Alain Michelot
This domaine has a stellar line-up of premiers crus from across the village: the intensely perfumed, concentrated Les Chaignots; silky fine-boned Champs Perdrix near the Vosne border; intense, long-lived and mineral Vaucrains, to the compelling, glycerol-charged Les-Saint-Georges grown on the rocky, thin-soiled tip of the appellation.
The wines are always long-term here (the 1993s are glorious now) though the forthcoming fruit and ripe, fine tannins from recent vintages such as 2015, will mean these can be enjoyed at many stages of their development.
