Domaine Albert Grivault
These wines have an almost regal air to them. This is possibly, in part, to the grandiose property in the middle of Meursault but the wines have a magisterial confidence and forthrightness about them.
The Clos des Perrières is a walled monopole in the middle of Perrières and the domaine is the largest owner of Meursault Perrières. The Clos is a little broader across the palate, very fine with immense length while the Perrières has excellent concentration and lots of flinty minéralité.
The do require patient ownership – Monsieur Bardet has bottles dating back to the early 1900s in his cellar – and though we are not suggesting you wait this long, patience is required to enjoy the wines to their full potential.
