Domaine David & Duvallet
Pierre David established this domaine in 1927, which is based in the village of Le Landreau, with just 1.5 hectares. Today the great-grandson Stéphane and his business partner Sébastian Duvallet look after almost 30 hectares.
The duo are part of the region’s new generation of thoughtful and quality-minded producers. Muscadet has seen a great resurgence in popularity recently and the various individual terroirs of Muscadet are now officially beginning to be recognised with a new cru system in place. Whilst it still makes for an excellent, quaffable match with seafood, the wines are capable of so much more than this when yields are restricted and the élevage prolonged.
