A brilliantly consistent performer over the last three decades, this domaine, can point, by way of explanation, to a clutch of fine Meursault premier cru and village holdings and a family-inspired ethic of professionalism which informs all aspects of vineyard and cellar work. After an interregnum following his father’s death, winemaking duties were taken up by son Jean-Marc who expanded the domaine via a white Monthelie and premier cru Meursault Bouchères, upgraded cellar cooling equipment, and steadily pushed back bottling dates, allowing the wines longer lees contact in barrel. These changes translate into wines which have gained density and flavour definition without losing the domaine’s signature fresh, zesty flavours.
Jean-Marc Roulot is following in his father’s footsteps (we have fond – if rather hazy memories of Guy’s pear brandy) and is using his family still to make a beautifully packaged range of liqueurs, eaux-de-vie & spirits.
These wines are offered on an allocation basis.
