Domaine Laurent Tribut
Laurent is often referred to as ‘the brother-in-law’ of Vincent Dauvissat but he is a hugely talented winemaker in his own right. With only a small range of holdings and no grands crus we are always blown away by the energy and nuance these wines have. As with Vincent’s wines, the élevage is in barrique and similarly a tiny proportion is new (2-3 new barrique out of around 40) – some of the barrels in the cellar are even 45 years old!
The domaine’s wines are wonderful after just a few years in the cellar but they can age with the best of them. Laurent always pulls out old bottles for us, regardless of the time of day – they are usually well beyond their tenth birthday and consistently brilliant.
